inspired by color

Day twenty one of the 31 Day Challenge, nails inspired by a color!
For today's manicure I picked teal. This is because September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month, there's also a wonderful campaign going on called "Teal Toes" which is an awareness campaign set to raise awareness about ovarian cancer and hopefully get the message out there that Ovarian Cancer should not be ignored! If you're interested, check out : http://www.tealtoes.org/

For some reason, this looks really blue on my camera, however, it is teal :)
Base: Sally Hansen Insta Dri "Petal Pusher"
Tips: Sally Hansen Xtreme nails "White On"
Teal design: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure "Fairy Teal"
Kiss "Soft Blue" (Lightest Shade)
Kiss "Silver Sparkle"

Aaaaand, my teal toes!

metallic nails

Day eight of the 31 Day Challenge, metallic nails!
I have quite a few metallic polishes and it was difficult to choose which one I would do but this is definitely one of my favorites.
It's a gorgeous metallic lavender kind of color, it looks much more grey in pictures then it actually is.

yellow nails.

So for day three of the 31 Day Challenge, we have yellow nails!

Le sigh, macro lens, always making my cuticles look much worse then they appear in person.

Wet n Wild "Hallucinate" 3 coats
Revlon "Multicare Base + Top coat" 2 coats

Love love love. My camera just doesn't pick up the beauty that hallucinate truly is. It's a sheer white / clear polish with white, green, blue, copper, pink, purple, turquoise glitter inside. It has a kind of holographic effect but it's just not your typical holo polish.

forget the past and simply be mine

So, I was browsing my favorite Nail Blogs, since my swatching day plan failed me, and was inspired by Emily over at Emily's Nail Files. Check out her blog, it's fabulous!

Sally Hansen Insta Dri "Whirlwind White" 1 coat
Kiss Nail Art - Black 1 coat
I painted the Teal first, then scotch taped it and painted the white section, finishing off with the zebra stripes.
However, on my right hand I tried it slightly differently, I painted my entire nail white first then scotch taped it and painted the tela over top, I don't really prefer one way over the other though.

While you're on your way to Emily's blog.. Check out another one of my favorite blogs and her excellent giveaway!

dandelions.

So, I was inspired for this manicure by MaD Manis, one of my favorite blogs, check them out!

I did this manicure yesterday, before I got the idea to start a blog so I didn't swatch the base coat on it's own. Not the best pictures, but if I duplicate it, I will update the pictures.  For the base coat I used Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure: Gray by Gray. Next time I change my manicure, i'll swatch it but for now, I took a picture from google.
For the dandelions, I used "Kiss Nail Art Paint" which comes in a kit of three different colours with some stencils. However, the stencils aren't very useful as i've found that they rip after a few uses.

This nail polish is great! It lasts long (although I change my manicures daily) and is really easy to freehand designs! I used the black to do the stem, adding a sepal to the top. Then, I used white to add the flower - just a bunch of lines. The fly away seeds are also done in white. Lastly, to add a little glam, I added three thin streaks of silver into the flower part.

This manicure was really easy and really fun to do!
